Sat. Dolphin watching on the Scuba-roo!

Today was another "uber-tourist" day. We had back-to-back "things to do today".

The first was a dolphin watch on the "Scuba Roo". There is a species of dolphin here called a "spinner dolphin" that is a joy to behold. Particularly during the mornings, after they have eaten, these dolphins jump joyously out of the water, spin like a top, and then come crashing down with a huge splash back into the water! It is illegal to swim with dolphins here, but the locals said that sometimes they bring their babies to the boats for a visit!

The staff of the Scuba Roo was very professional and friendly. We had free snacks and free ice water and iced tea. Werner and I were with a Japanese tour bus that arrived shortly before launch.

On this hot afternoon, we did not see much dolphin activity except for a few fins swirling around near the Agat Marina. No jumping/spinning dolphins on his ride. But we DID see beautiful caves (many used by the Japanese to defend Guam during the U.S. recapture of the island) and gorgeous blue water.

Then, after finding the dolphins, we got to snorkel at a reef near the mouth of the harbor, in deep water. They give you hotdogs to take out snorkeling, and you hold out your hand, and these beautiful reef fish come up to you and eat hot dog bits out of your hands! Pretty neat.

They also gave people a "banana boat" ride back to the reef after finding the dolphins. A fun time for all!

If you come to Guam, booking a tour with these folks is a good idea! We think you will enjoy it!
